The Big Day, the 8th of September
1998, was also Luana's
20th birthday. She refused to get
married while still a teenager,
so Phil tied her down to this first
day of her twenties!
We (the bride's parents and brother
Michael -
oh, I'm Jo, by the way, or Jodie
as many people call me now)
- we arrived at Luana's apartment
very early, and had a
brief celebration before moving
into Wedding Mode. Sabine,
the Bridesmaid, had spent the night
there, helping with last-minute
preparations and staying up until
after midnight to bring in
Luana's birthday with her. She met
us at the door
just before 07h00, bleary eyed but
very excited, and made
us coffee and toast. We had to almost
force the Bride to eat!
(Oh - "Sabine" is pronounced "Sabina"
- we just call her
Beanie, and it fits - she's cute
and cuddly and soft and
gorgeous, just like Ty's Beanie
Babies!)
07h40: Luana being prepared by Debbie,
our excellent hair and make-up lady.
08h10 : Michael, in a real suit
for the
first time in his life ... The things
he
does for his sister!
More pictures will come as we have
them developed;
preparations at the Groom's brother's
home were
also taking place ... not to mention
the Flower Girls.
Also some photos of Luana getting
dressed have
mysteriously disappeared ... oh,
Luaaaaaaaaa-naaaaaa!
