There were so many people involved
in this wedding,
I hardly know where to begin! So
let's start with
those we love most ~ our family
and friends. If my
faulty memory misses anyone or anything
out, please
forgive me and let me know, so that
I can correct the error!
In no particular order, then ~
The Flower Girls' dresses and hair
accessories were
made by Wendy
Schönfeldt, Phil's mother.Wendy
also created the stunning ring cushion
and Luana's Garter.
Thank you so much for this act of
love, Wendy! In
addition, Wendy led us to the venue,
Garden World ~
an inspired idea! Also thanks to
Wendy' husband Hannes,
who stood as MC at the wedding,
as well as enduring
all the time his wife put into the
sewing instead of
being able to spend it with him!
Much of the organisation and running
around was done
by Sabine Behrmann,
the Bridesmaid, who stood in
for the duties I wasn't able to
perform because I was living
too far away from the centre of
action. Also, I know that
Sabine was far more capable and
level-headed than I
would have been, so she really did
a better job! She
made her own beautiful dress and
tie-string purse, and
went everywhere with Luana, advising
and helping choose.
Thank you, Sabine; you have been
a sterling friend and
I love you SO much!
Luana herself
undertook
a great deal of the work,
alongside Sabine. At times her head
was spinning with it
all, but she stayed calm even through
all the excitement,
and took loads off my shoulders.
She has always been
very understanding of her mother's
fluffiness, and made up
for it with her own sensibilities.
Thank you, Luana, for
everything you have meant in my
life, and continue to mean.
Phillip, the
Groom! ~ for all the patience and kindness he
displayed during the preparations,
allowing for Luana's
madcap whims and expenditures <gggg>,
and even
agreeing to wearing the Tails! Phil,
you know we love you
and are thrilled that the last four
years has culminated in
this forever event. We entrust Luana
to you in full faith
that you will be the husband she
wants, and needs. Thank you!
Candice, Jade,
Tamzyn, and litle Lisa ~
you were absolutely wonderful as
the Flower Girls! You
looked great, you undertook your
duties with responsibility,
and throughout you looked SO pretty!
Thank you all for
putting up with the fittings and
the shoe-buying and the
hair-fiddling and the waiting around
and all that adult nonsense,
and for taking such good care of
Luana's train at the wedding!
Michael
~ thank you for being willing to dress up in a
monkey-suit and be a part of the
wedding parade. You
looked magnificent, and you impressed
everyone with
your cool handling of the entire
thing. And ~ you didn't
drop the rings once! :-) I know
that it meant a great deal
to Luana and Phillip, to have you
by their side during this
important moment in their lives,
and also to myself and your
father to see you up there together.
You're very precious
to us. Thank you for being an incredible
son; the Lord
has truly blessed us!
Andrew
~ my husband. For providing not only for this glorious
wedding, but for your family through
the years in such a selfless,
giving way. This wedding was only
made possible through
your own dedication and determination.
Luana is who she
is because of you. I thank you for
that, and for so much more!
Today was the triumph of your achievement.
To my sister and greatest friend,
Dawn
Chesworth ~
for being there for me, supporting
and loving me, and helping me in
more ways than I can ever say. Also
for running Candice around
for her fittings and the major undertaking
of finding the right shoes!
To you and to your fantastic husband
Sam,
for bringing our parents
here from the Eastern Cape so that
they could be with us for the
wedding. I thank you for this generosity,
and for all the generosity you
have shown to me over the years.
Also to Sam for the wonderful video
footage he shot of the wedding;
Sam, you did a brilliant job and this
special gift will keep the wedding
with us for a long time to come!
You're a tremendous person, and
I love and respect you more than
you would ever believe.
Noeline and Brian
Kietzmann ~ what can I say?
In the past four years you have
given Luana a solid anchor
in times of distress; you have been
there for her through
thick and thin, guiding her with
your loving Christian
principles and generosity. I know
that you did not do this
simply because of Phillip; you did
it because of who you are
and what you believe. I have the
greatest admiration for you
both, and a thankfulness that the
Lord brought your steadying
influence into Luana's life just
when she needed it most.
I am proud to have you as in-laws!
Noeline, thank you also
for all the help you gave Luana
prior to the wedding, the running
around and the advice and the planning;
for collecting and organising
the flowers, ensuring everyone was
where they had to be on time,
and that the flower arrangements
were placed.
Brian, thank you for being the Bride's
Chauffeur to the wedding, and
to the airport afterwards. Your
car looked wonderful, and so did you!
It will seem so strange when you
have moved to Botswana ...
I know Luana will miss you both
terribly.But the nuances you have
placed in her and Phillip's lives
is a legacy they will always have.
Vicky du Toit
~ Thank you for the input you gave as Best Man,
and have also given as Phil's Big
Brother over the years. For the
time you took for your duties as
Best Man, the stag party, ensuring
Phillip was properly dressed <ggggg>
... etc! The love and pride
shone from your face at the wedding,
and I thank you
for who you are to Phillip and to
Luana.
Petra, Werner
and John at Garden World ~
thank you for the amazing venue,
the food, and the effort you
put in to make this wedding a success
as well as a beautiful
occasion. Your work behind the scenes
made it all possible!
Christine
~ that wedding cake was awesome! Thank you
for fitting it in right after you
returned from Europe, for
advising us on the choice, and for
doing the deed so well!
To Aggie's
for the flower bouquets and table arrangements;
they were splendid and added just
the right touch and colours!
To Luke Teo
for his wonderful midi music! Used on this site:
"From a Distance", "Give Thanks",
"I Worship You",
"Only By Grace", and "When I Look
Into Your Holiness".
Go see
Luke's
Music Zone!
And most of all,
I want to thank our Lord and God for
...
oh gee, this is so small and inadequate!
Lord, you KNOW
how I feel and all I can do here
is offer you praise!
Have I left anyone out? Please tell
me if I have; you
all know about my sieve-like memory!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
